THE SECRET TO TRUE HEALTH IS…

“Medicine is the study of disease and what causes man to die.  Chiropractic is the study of health and what causes a man to live.

~Dr. B.J. Palmer~

How many times have you gone to the medical doctor because you felt good?  Or because everything in your body is working well?  Have you ever said to your medical doctor, “Hey doc!  I have absolutely nothing wrong, so I just wanted to check in with you.”

Ummm….what?

Seriously, who does that?  No one.  Or, almost no one.  If you did, what would be your medical doctor’s response?

“Great!  Come back when something is wrong!”

Pause a moment.  Let that sink in.  Why would your medical doctor, who works in a health care system, tell you to come back only when your health is failing??

Well, what is your medical doctor going to do for you when you are healthy and functioning well?  They can’t give you a pill—there is no symptom.  An injection?  Nothing hurts.  Surgery?  That would make no sense!

The reality is your medical doctor—and the “health care” system as a whole—isn’t equipped to work with health.  The health care system is best equipped to work with sickness.  Our “healthcare system” is a sick care system.  It’s there for you when you are sick or broken.

In fact, this is about the time that we decide to seek help anyway.  When things have gotten to the point when we can’t take it anymore.  We live with pain and dysfunction for years before we seek help.  Why do we do that?  Because that’s how we are trained to think about our bodies and our health.  “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”  Even if it’s just eking along.

When we go to our medical doctor, what do we say?  “Doc, it hurts right here…” and then we point to it.  Then the medical doctor looks where you point, pushes on the painful area, and maybe takes an x-ray of the painful area.  Then what happens?  Maybe a drug or two to ease the pain and anxiety.  A referral to pain management for injections.  Or if we have let things get too far—surgery.  The medical system treats the symptoms, rather than the cause.

But isn’t this how it’s supposed to be?  Aren’t our bodies born to break down as we get older?  Isn’t it our destiny to live our golden years with aches, pains, pills, and canes?

I have a simple answer to these questions.

That answer is:  No.

Certainly, we all age and we all have the same inevitable ending after a certain number of years on this Earth.  But we are not made to break down and fall apart.  Just the opposite, in fact.

We are born with an Innate Intelligence.  That Innate Intelligence is what gives us life.  Our Innate Intelligence tells our heart to beat, lungs to breath, hormones to release at specific times, cells to regenerate…our Innate Intelligence controls everything.  EVERYTHING.  Innate Intelligence (or Innate, for short) is life, it works at 100% at all times, and its sole objective is to ensure every single organ, gland, tissue, and cell in the body is at optimum function.

Unfortunately, what causes the body to break down are interruptions in the nervous system that prevent proper nerve function to the various organs, glands, tissues, and cells in the body.  These interruptions are due to the stresses we put on our bodies from the moment we are born.  They create varying levels of interference in the communication system between the brain and the body.  The Innate, always working perfectly, continues to respond and adapt our physiology to keep us alive and moving as much as possible.

That is intended to help us.  Unfortunately, what ends up happening when things don’t heal properly or we adapt to too much, is we lose quality of life.  The medical profession has found ways to extend the quantity of our years, but after years of stress and trauma to our bodies, the quality of those years suffers.  The result?  Aged and broken-down bodies propped up by drugs, injections, and surgeries.  Just eking along.

The best way to combat that is not more drugs, injections, or surgeries.  It’s taking care of your health today.  Not just eating right, physical activity, and plenty of sleep.  Those are very important, but what is most important is tending to the very thing that brings you life.  Your nervous system.  Your Innate.  The spine is the window to the nervous system.  The spine and the nervous system are the vehicle for your Innate to express life.  Attending to the health of your spine today is vital to your overall health and the quality of life you want to achieve now and into your future.

That is the secret to true health.  While it’s ideal to address your spinal health very early in life (as early as birth), it’s never too late.

Regular chiropractic care is vital to your health and longevity.  It’s not the simple removal of pain.  It’s removing the barriers to your function and bringing forth your optimal health.  It’s a means of attending to your health in a way that the sick care system is unable to achieve.  It’s living the quality of life you want—now and into the future.

Believe me, your Innate is ready and waiting.
